The visual identity for this project reflects the Linnaean Botanic Garden and Library’s motto: Where history and nature entwine. Designed to be a development piece to attract new trustees and high-level donors, the folder system includes letterhead, business card, brochure, and an incentive “gift” — postcards of the gardens and library collections. The website carries through the elegant and precise visual system by concentrating on attractive photography mixed with historic elements.

This two-volume book relates my experiences processing the papers of Jean Elizabeth Wolfe while I was an archivist at the Schlesinger Library at Harvard University. Wolfe, a medical illustrator and self-proclaimed “mid-century gentleman butch,” was a woman with many deep-seeded, pathological insecurities. The first volume is a record of all the documents generated over the course of processing the papers, and the second is an exploration of my reactions to working closely with the inner thoughts of a very disturbed human being.

For this rebranding project I chose to work with the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency providing public funding for non-profit cultural organizations, schools, communities, and artists located in Massachusetts. For their new identity, I designed a modular system that embodies their organizational values: supportive, flexible, artistic, and connected to their community. The new website makes use of the modular system through careful use of patterning balanced with images showcasing the resources they support.

For this fictitious exhibition celebrating the work of type designer, Cyrus Highsmith, my goal was to create a visual system that could fit comfortably within his world of rough-cut illustrations, strong typographic designs, and bold use of color. The collateral includes a poster, catalog, and opening reception invitation. There is also a give-away magnet featuring the exhibition’s central “OK” illustration and an animated teaser trailer for the museum’s website.
(NB: all illustrations and typefaces are Cyrus Highsmith's)

A teaser animation to promote the Fall 2015 Meeting using the graphic I designed.
A bi-annually published serial I designed from the ground-up. For the first issue I established the typography, layout, and art direction (Fall 2015). For subsequent issues I flow-in next text, choose images and theme color.

Designed to fit inside the vestibule of the Boston Public Library's Johnson Building, this exhibition promotes the library’s collections, reading, and a sense of community for BPL patrons. The set-up includes an interactive kiosk that manipulates a grid of projected book covers on one of the library’s walls. After checking out, patrons are encouraged to add an image of their book to the wall. All visitors are invited to rearrange the wall by “shuffling” the grid by either author, color, genre, or popularity.
